Troubleshoot Problems with Java

Enable Java in Firefox/Mozilla Suite..
If Java is installed on your computer but it isn't working, make sure that Enable
Java
is checked in in your browser options/preferences:

    Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey
    Click Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Enable Java
    Then restart your browser.

    Firefox
    Click Tools > Options > Content > Enable Java
    Then restart your browser.

     

Delete Older Java Files in Firefox/Mozilla Suite..
Outdated Java files in the browser plugins folder can prevent Java from working. These files are normally found in the following directories.

    Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey
    C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\SeaMonkey\plugins

    Firefox
    C:\Program Files\Mozillla Firefox\plugins and

 

Error Messages: Java Not Found and Java Not Working
If you areusing Windows Vista then after updating to Firefox 2.0.0.8 Windows Vista users will get Java Not Found or Java Not Working error messages.  To fix this:

  1. Right-click the Firefox icon
  2. Choose Run as Administrator
  3. Then browse to a page with a Java applet, such as conferences.
  4. This will fix the problem permanently.
