Logging In and Logging Out of WebTycho

Logging In

  1. Log in to your internet service provider (ISP) or LAN.
  2. Open your web browser
  3. Go to WebTycho log in page
  4. Type your Username and Password
  5. You will be presented with a list of classes for which you are registered.  While  you may indeed be registered, links to classes do not appear for students until one week before the first day of class so you may be able to log in to WebTycho successfully yet see no links.  Please check your course calendar.
  6. Click on the link to your class.

Logging In the First Time

  1. Log in with your original password (sent to you in an e-mail message upon registration and comprised of a random group of letters and numbers.)
  2. You will be immediately presented with the Account Preferences page. Before you may continue you must change your password. This is also a good time to verify your e-mail address and select whether to enable or disable various classroom settings such as Spell Check, Text Formatting Editor, and Classroom Awareness.
  3. Log in with the password you just created.
  4. You will be presented with a brief Orientation to WebTycho. You must complete the Orientation before you will be able to access your class(es).

Location Bar
Do not use the WebTycho URL stored in the location bar history because it will include a numeral and will interfere with the traffic manager.

  2. Select Organize Bookmarks
  3. Highlight the bookmark for WebTycho
  4. Click Properties and delete numerals in the URL

Trouble Logging In?
Give your computer time to process your log in command.  If you are presented with the log in page repeatedly without proceeding to your Class List, make sure you entered your user name and password correctly. Check that you have not typed capital letters where you intended lowercase letters, used a lowercase "L" for the number one, entered any spaces, or misspelled anything.  Also see Connecting Troubles.

Logging Out
To log out of WebTycho without having to exit your browser, use the Log Out button at the top of the page. When you click Log Out all connections to WebTycho will be ended. You will be presented with a new window with which you may log in again if you wish. If you do not want to log in again, simply close that window.
